I was born in the Philippine Islands before World
War II. I spent the war years, with my family, in several Japanese Internment camps. My memoir of those years was published December 29, 2016, by Archway Publications titled Only by the Grace of God: One family’s story of survival during World War II as prisoners of war in the Philippines. Pamela J. Brink, Robert A. Brink, John W. Brink. The book is available on Amazon.com.
I write about my passions. I am a Roman Catholic Convert and am convinced I did the right thing.
I am a German Shepherd Dog enthusiast. I love my dogs as companion animals, as competitors in conformation and obedience dog shows, and as examples of unconditional love and trust.
I am a successful dieter. My struggles with food began as a child in a POW camp in the Philippines. I was constantly hungry. Whenever I am hungry today, I panic. Finding the low carbohydrate diet plan, help me to control my appetite and weight.
These are what matter to me most, and in this order. So, these are the things I talk about.
Not only did I publish books and scholarly articles, I designed and founded the Western Journal of Nursing Research, serving as its editor for over 25 years. My life as a writer has only been possible because I have always been an avid reader. My day dream as an eight-grader was to spend my days eating and reading.
